Arrival in The DreamFrom the Journal of Lady Anissa Sai Karai, 25 Huai 0892:   
 It has been four days since a massive tropical storm moved over Arkhaven from the south and west; the system stalled over our island and has been battering it with merciless bands of wind and rain since its arrival. It seems odd that the storm has not moved on...our meteorologists cannot explain this behaviour, save for another front to the north. Even then, I would have thought the storm would have eventually weakened, stalled over land - Arkhaven is not exactly a small island.

Road Trip to AnthroCon 2002This year’s trip to Anthrocon had one big difference over previous years’ – I was able to bring along my fiancé, Marti, as well.  She had completed her studies at the University of North Florida, so I thought a vacation together would be a nice graduation present.   
Talking it over, we decided to drive up to Philadelphia.  Since neither of our cars had working air conditioning at the time, we decided to rent a car to make the trip in.  That was a little bit of an adventure in itself – the rental location I initially selected wound up being an empty storefront when I checked where it was, despite what t Road Trip to AnthroCon 2002

The Duchess's Promise Part 2Sleep was at first a welcome relief from the trials that Jared had gone though that night, but his dreams would not be as pleasant.  His memories spilled out into them, the memories of what had led his sister, Hope, and him to their current state…   
Night had fallen in the village of Kilepo, and the villagers worked quickly to finish up last-minute chores.  Hope was in helping Momma the cooking, while Jared aided Poppa in his crafts shed, cleaning up behind another productive day of tool working.

I'm on Facebook now, as well as LiveJournal...just look for the 'Karl Meyers' located in Florida.

Nothing much on the writing front. One of these days, I'm going to have to sit down and go though my old ideas, and see what still has legs, then work from there.

Yes, I'm one of those naughty people who doesn't necessarily comment on a piece before fav'ing it. My take has always been that the act of fav'ing the piece indicated that I felt it was worth keeping track of, which means I believe it to be a fine work of art. I'm not that good at critique, so most likely any comment I'd make would be in the "nice work!" vein, and that doesn't seem to have much value to me.

Apologies in advance if this annoys some people. (At least I'm being honest about it up front. ;) )
